SpaBalancer UltraShock

What is UltraShock?

UltraShock is a cleaner based on Cl2Oxide and is five times stronger than chlorine. This destroys legionella, germs and bacteria. In addition, UltraShock destroys the biofilm.
We recommend adding Ultrashock at least 1 time a week (20ml).

Reasons for using UltraShock

• After the first filling of water into the spa
• In case of unpleasant odors of the water
• When the water foams
• For cloudy water
• In case of slimy deposits on the spa shell

The disinfection of the hot tub can also be carried out with UltraShock only. This is recommended for hot tubs made of wood, whirlpools without a filtration system, which do not have a filtration system.

Execution of a shock treatment

• add 50ml of UltraShock per 1000 liters of water content into the water. Depending on the contamination of the water, the required amount of UltraShock may vary.
• For better mixing, run the pumps for a few minutes and leave for at least 8 hours.
• If the contamination is still present the following day, the treatment can be repeated.
• There should always be at least 3 hours between the addition of UltraShock and SpaBalancer, otherwise the two products will neutralize.

Measuring UltraShock

UltraShock is an active oxygen based cleaner. To measure the concentration of UltraShock, commercially available chlorine test tablets or chlorine test strips can be used. Here, the displayed value must be divided by three. Then the result, the UltraShock concentration in the water, is obtained.

Spa use during UltraShock treatment

The value of UltraShock concentration should not be higher than 5 mg/l (ppm/l). Higher value may cause unpleasant skin irritation and therefore bathing should be avoided during this time.

UltraShock - aftercleaner for filters

UltraShock should also be used for the after-treatment of filters. This after-treatment makes the filters 100% bacteria-free again and oxidizes all remaining dirt and germs.

Procedure after cleaning

• Filters should be soaked in a filter cleaner for one night and rinsed thoroughly.
• Then they can be placed in an UltraShock solution for another night. For this, 20 ml of UltraShock to 10 liters of water is used. The filters must be completely covered
• The following day the filters should be rinsed and dried.

Use of additional cleaner for delicate whirlpools like Softub

Sufficient filtration of at least 6 hours/day and clean filters are crucial for success when using SpaBalancer. There are spas, such as Softub, where the filter run time cannot be adjusted. This results in slippery deposits and cloudiness. In this case a regular shock treatment is recommended.

SpaBalancer UltraShock - Sole disinfectant

UltraShock can also be used as a sole disinfectant, without the addition of SpaBalancer. This is often used for hot tubs without a filter system (wooden hot tubs).

• After using the hot tub, add 10 ml of UltraShock per person to the water
• When the hot tub is not in use, 10 ml of UltraShock should be added to the water every three days. Reason: UltraShock has no depot effect!

Shelf life
Ultrashock should always be stored upright, not lying down! Never buy in stock, because Ultrashock has a limited lifetime (max. 1 year shelf life). It loses about 8 to 10% effectiveness per month. It should be stored in a cool and dark place. The indicated quantities should then be increased to compensate for the decreasing effectiveness after the expiration date.
