Filter Clean

Cartridge filters consist of a special fleece, which contains innumerable, small passages. The dirt gets caught in these passages and is thus retained. If the filter is not cleaned properly, bacteria can settle in the fleece and form a biofilm that protects it.

The bacteria feed on fats, dander as well as oils and can therefore multiply unhindered. As a result, the spa filter becomes a water polluter. In addition, contaminated filters cause a shortened life of the filter pump and increased power consumption.

SpaBalancer Filter Clean dissolves organic contaminants, oils and greases from the filter fleece. Therefore, it is essential that the filters are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

We recommend that you clean the filters every 2-3 weeks. Weekly filter cleaning may be necessary in the early days with SpaBalancer. It is advantageous to work with a second set of spa filters to always have a clean set in the spa.

Procedure filter cleaning

First step

•  Place the filters in a bucket, add 100 ml to 200 ml of SpaBalancer Filter Clean  (depending on contamination) to 10 liters of water and fill it with water until the filters are completely covered
• Leave the filters in this solution with SpaBalancer Filter Clean for at least 12 hours
• The higher the concentration of SpaBalancer Filter Clean, the better the cleaning effect

Second step

• Place the whirlpool filters in SpaBalancer UltraShock solution for at least 12 hours. For this purpose use 25 ml SpaBalancer UltraShock per 10 liters of water. The filters should be completely covered.
• Now rinse the filters thoroughly and let them dry afterwards

This post-treatment makes the filters 100% bacteria-free again and oxidizes all remaining dirt and germs. SpaBalancer UltraShock also prevents residues from the filter cleaner from causing the water in the spa to foam.

Since the filter fleece loses its filtering effect over time, we recommend that you replace the filters every 1-2 years.
