Liquid Spa Down is a liquid pH reducer - lowers pH levels without the hassle of mixing with water.
Properties:
- Lowers pH and alkalinity.
- Easier to apply than granules.
Application:
- Add only small amounts of pH lowering agent to the water and allow time for the pH to settle before testing again. Large amounts at one time will cause the pH to fluctuate up and down too much.
- Turn on the pumps.
- Add 2 tablespoons to the water.
- Test the water again after 15 minutes.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 until the pH is in the 7.2 - 7.8 range and the Total Alkalinity is in the 80 - 120 ppm range.
Tips
It is much easier to adjust the pH if you use the liquid pH reducer. If you use the pH granules, you must always dissolve them in water before adding them to the spa. pH reducer is an acid. If the granules are not properly dissolved and get into the pumps and heater, the pumps and heater will be damaged.
If the pH is very high, it may be wise to lower the pH gradually over several days because if the pH is lowered too much, the alkalinity level will also drop too much.
Advantages
- No pre-mixing with water necessary.
- Very easy to dose
Compatible with
