Stains or water discoloration on the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa surface
It happens that the water in the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa becomes discolored. The cause in this is usually due to very high concentration of metal ions (iron, zinc or copper) in the water.
Here are a few useful explanations:
Brown or black
Cause: high manganese content
Reddish brown or red
Cause: rust
Greenish discoloration
Cause: algae at most, high iron or copper
The percentage of various metals in the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa water depends on the water used to fill the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa. This percentage may vary from area to area. Other causes may include:
Alkalinity too low:
Alkalinity can be increased with "Alkalinity Increaser"
Calcium value of the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa water is too low:
Increase with "Calcium Booster"
pH value too low:
Increase by "pH-Plus"
This discoloration must be neutralized. This is done in the following steps:
- Measure the pH value and then adjust it accordingly. .
- Add "Metal Gon" to the whirlpool/jacuzzi/swim spa water.
- Filter the whirlpool/jacuzzi/swim spa water for a few hours. Then clean the filter with filter cleaner.
- Now add an algaecide (algaecide) to the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa water.
If deposits have already formed on the water surface, drain the hot tub/jacuzzi/swim spa. You can clean the water surface with "Citra Bright". For this purpose, we recommend a mineral fiber cloth as a cleaning sponge.
