Bypass filtration at the Jacuzzi - recommendable?
Many manufacturers offer bypass filtration with their Jacuzzis.
What is bypass filtration?
One pump sucks the spa water through the filter or filters. The other or other pumps draw it through the intake strainers in the base/bottom area of the spa.
Other spa manufacturers each have all pumps draw the water in through the filters, even while you are bathing.
Germs and bacteria cannot generally be filtered out with a spa filter!
Advantages of bypass filtration

Disadvantages bypass filtration

Advantages 100% filtering
.- Since the spa water is already filtered during use, it is clearer during and even after use .
- The filters do not need to be cleaned as often because you have multiple filters. Due to the use of multiple filters, the filtering capacity is greater and the water is clearer faster .
Disadvantages 100% filtration
.- All filters used must be cleaned regularly, which leads to great expense .
- Since multiple filters are used, filter replacement (every 2 years) is more expensive .
- The filters represent a resistance for the spa water, this has the consequence that they reduce the pump power and therefore the massage power .
- From a certain pump power (2x5hp or 3x5hp), 100% filtration can no longer be used. Because the filters would not let through enough water so.
Our hot tubs have a pressure filter system, so we only need one filter. Thus, according to this also only 1 filter must be cleaned. In this case, the replacement costs are also enormously lower. By using the right disinfectant, the spa water is always crystal clear. Despite this, bacteria and germs can not be filtered out!
